The Separation and Conversion Technology unit develops technologies for making production processes within the (bio)chemical sector sustainable, replacing fossil-based raw materials with raw materials based on biomass, and processing residual flows into useable raw materials

Job description/tasks

  • You will work in a multidisciplinary team that includes researchers and project managers, and you will share responsibility for developing the unit´s contract portfolio.
  • You will monitor market trends and customer requirements in order to provide relevant input for determining the unit´s development strategy.
  • You will define and initiate commercial strategies and coordinate campaigns to influence the market.
  • You are well positioned to use your external bilateral and multilateral contacts to situate VITO research in a business context and enthuse companies for the opportunities provided by such research.

Candidate profile

  • You have a master´s degree in chemistry and you have experience in the area of (bio)chemical process technology, preferably in the area of separation and conversion technology, and are prepared to maintain and expand this expertise.
  • You have additional business training and/or at least 5 years commercial experience in the business world.
  • You have the expertise required to approach the diverse sectors and you have an active network of contacts.
