Job description/tasks

• The management of the country sales organization consisting of customer support, technical support and the account managers / sales managers
• P&L responsible for all Belgian operations of the business unit
• Creation of a framework in which the technical and sales support, key account- and sales managers can establish their role as intermediaries between the customer or prospect and the laboratory
• In an effective way the aggregation of environmental and food related (international) information as well as an appropriate collection of information on competitors and make proposals to the Managing Director Western Europe and Executive Board on future product and market opportunities and to carry out the pricing policy
• Act according to the Synlab Mission, Vision and Values and Standards
• The annual preparation of a country sales-, marketing- and activity-plan in which the objectives are stated according to the company strategy, presenting the corresponding budgets and the implementation and monitoring of the progress of these activities within the allocated budgets. Responsible for (over)achieving the budget
• The management and coaching of the country sales organization consisting of customer support, technical support, the key account managers / sales managers
• External contacts with all for the Country Manager relevant external institutions and customers
• Execute appraisal meetings
• Train and authorize staff
• Recruitment of new employees
• Customer visits of key account customers/prospects
• Making amendment proposals to all available documentation
• Performing work in accordance with the authorities matrix
• Act according to the relevant policy (QHSE and sustainability), procedures work instructions for the job and workplace

Candidate profile

• Academic level of education / experience (this is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Master Degree and three to five years of sales or marketing experience)
• Preferably commercial experience in environmental, oil, food or laboratory industry
• Ability to persuade and influence others
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
• Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
• Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients. This requires the possession of a valid state driver’s license
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel
• Fluent in Dutch and French, knowledge of English is a strong plus
